A LIFE OF VICTORY

“As His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue” 2 PETER 1:3

At the point of new birth, believers are enrolled into a Corp whose main task is to please the Lord. The greatest achievement of a child of God is not success or any other form of breakthrough. What will pass as prime achievement is that an individual walked with God and pleased Him. This high goal is not what can be done by sheer grit of will; it is only possible by the help of God. Thank goodness, this help is readily available as we can see from our text. The power of God has already made available to us all that is required to live a life that is well pleasing to God.

Despite the abundant supply of the Spirit of Jesus made available to believers for a victorious life, a lot of people still live defeated and are frustrated lives. What might be the reason? In our previous meditation, it was emphasized that grace and peace are multipliable through the knowledge of God. In this present circumstance too, the knowledge of God is important to be able to access what has been given to us. The more of God we know, the more His power will work in us and through us. We must daily press for a deeper and intimate knowledge of God, knowing that it is the only assured way to a life of victory.
